PEST CONTROL PCB and dioxin contamination food?

EFSA has recently (July '10) published a report on levels of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls non-dioxin-like PCBs) in food and in feed additives. The report is based on samples collected from 18 EU Member States between 1999 and 2008.
PCBs can be released into the environment and people are primarily exposed to PCBs through food, with the exception of specific cases of accidental exposure or employment. See - EFSA report

What are PCBs and dioxins:
- PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) are chemical compounds containing chlorine used in the past in the synthesis of pesticides, paints, solvents, disinfectants, plasticizers such as capacitors and in electrical transformers and other industrial processes (heat transfer fluids, cutting oils. Although production of PCBs has been waived since 1980 (Directive 76/769), there remain significant quantities in electrical appliances in plastic products and materials construction (see case Brescia).
The 209 types of PCBs are classified ... dioxin-like PCBs and non-dioxin-like PCBs.

Remember emergency Dioxin in Mozzarella x mismanagement of waste in those places some burn PVC cables to recover copper.
The presence of chlorine and metals in the waste material poses the two main conditions for the formation of dioxins, which begins with the formation of gaseous hydrochloric acid which reacts with the oxide of a metal (iron, copper or better)

EFFECTS ON HUMAN? Dioxins are considered one of the most dangerous chemicals ever tested, even in picograms per kg liveweight.
Dioxins and PCBs are accumulated adipose tissue (bioaccumulation), dioxin has been classified as carcinogenic (Group 1) in 1997 by the IARC and PCBs as probably carcinogenic substances to humans

DIOXIN CONTAMINATION ENVIRONMENTAL :
Germany 1953 facilities of BASF,
Vietnam 1961-75 through the use of Agent Orange a defoliant;
ITALY - Seveso in 1976 following an accident to the ski Meda, ... and various other

CONTAMINATION OF FOOD:
Belgium 1999: chicken dioxin - 1999, feed contaminated with dioxin in the fat-rich as resulting from industrial oils such cases in ....
Netherlands, Belgium , Germany (2003 and 2006) for chickens and pigs.
Ireland 2008, dioxin coming from pork and beef to feed, of unknown origin. Some argue that thesis in the process of drying of industrial fuel oil feed was used

ITALY - CAMPANIA 2007 result of poor management of urban and industrial waste were found high doses of dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls both the land and in ' man and animals.
The main source of pollution is likely due to the activities in the recovery of copper wiring that occurs through burning cables and their sheaths PVC, combustion of waste and packaging in aree urbane e dallo smaltimento irregolare di fanghi industriali sui terreni ad uso agricolo.

PCB …

DCA HISTORICAL, SOCIAL AND NUMBERS

eggs contain MYCOTOXINS? Acrylamide

The egg contamination by mycotoxins is very rare.
This contamination can result from feed used to feed the chickens hens, but the "digestion" of this mycotoxin has a conversion / killing a lot higher in hens.
In regard to the transfer of aflatoxins from feed to egg, studies and results conducted by various authors are contradictory on the exact value, but all agree that the effect of reduction is high in the order of 1 / 2000, 1 / 5000 to give values of 1 / 100 '000.
In practice for egg 1ppb B1 of the food it should contain 2000 to 5000 or more values preposterous and unthinkable, please note that the limit is on the order of 20ppb.
The conversion factor for egg ...
1 / 2200 (Source http://www.pg.izs.it/webzine.html)
1 / 5000 (Sources Ref Oliveira CA, et other "food addit counts" June 2000 17 (6): 459-462])
... ranging from 0.0015% to 0% (Source lucia Bailoni, Department Animal Science - University of Padua)
As an example, please note that the conversion factor of M1 and M2 for milk is much higher in the order of 1 / 100 and 1 / 300.
To confirm that the risk of mycotoxins in eggs is almost nonexistent, it is important to analyze the alerts in Europe, in recent years, relating to mycotoxins (RASFF Food Safety - Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed).
Some studies argue that any risk to the eggs is limited mainly to possible residues of zearalenone metaboti eggs, liver and meat hens elle
