artificial flavors??

use the term ... there are no "artificial flavors" (in Europe) refers to the fact that the aroma (mix of various ingredients) contains only substances which are present in nature, but may still be synthesis (see natural identical flavors, the reference is the Legislative Decree 107/92).
This classification is quite clear to the world of aromatieri!
So saying "do not use artificial flavors" is not equivalent to saying "use natural flavors", but use substances that occur naturally.
As for the labeling to be indicated on the label classical (list ingredients) are referred to the Legislative Decree 109/92, where the distinction is possible only natural flavors and aromas.

An example ... a vanilla flavor (made from a mixture of flavoring ingredients) it contains:
Ma comunque penso sia superfluo fare tutte queste riflessioni e classificazione, since the entering into force on 20:01:11 EC regulation 1334/2008 repealing Dir 88/388 and Dir 91/71 who made "born" the Decree 107/92.
This new legislative reference reviews the classification of the families of flavorings (flavors of the ingredients) and then we align + or-to what happens in the U.S. where there are only two categories :

1) NO NATURAL (artificial) : any substance produced by chemical synthesis, regardless of whether or not there is in nature
2) NATURAL

... some of my small reflections ...
- Vanilla is much more expensive than synthetic vanillin ...
- The aroma of vanilla aroma and full of natural vanilla is not possible to distinguish it from "normal noses" ...
- We use over 10,000 tons per year of vanilla (only about 1-5% will be natural) is sustainable produce all the necessary vanillin from vanilla pods??
- quantity as the aroma is less used in food industry (1 / 1000) are in fact the last postoi list of ingredients ...

Mayor Sondalo talks about protection of citizens, as after the suspension of the TAR its resolution was no longer applicable, because has left the company to issue invoices to be correct ... I sometimes wonder if he knows the meaning of words he says. Let us explain ... below the end of the memory of the Committee presented to the Council of State.

bill by February 2010

1. indicative of the arrogance manifested in the context of this proceeding, the appellant company is also what happened after the publication of the second order for suspension of rates: despite the protective order of TAR . and a special warning to users, in fact, was sent a bill that does not take account of the suspension of the effectiveness of the provision of Court.

Throughout 2010, therefore, if it were not confirmed the contested order, the citizens of Sondalo and Tirano, continue to pay higher rates with increases ISTAT illegally approved by the Conference of Mayors.

THE periculum

1. Just this last report, indicates, inter alia, the conditions required to arrange and confirm the interim suspension of the contested decision in its time, as required by the Administrative Court of Milan:

• after the first injunction of the TAR Milan, dated 19.3.2009, has been applied only increase ISTAT + 30%;

• since October 2009, however, that withdrawal in self-defense after the resolution was suspended by the TAR and the restoration of the increases approved for 2008/2009, the company has demanded payment of charges increased by 12.53%, retroactive to March 2009: throughout 2009, therefore, the applicants have paid fees increased by 12.52% compared to the previous year, despite the suspension effectiveness of measures authorizing such increases;

• the same thing happened after the second protective order of the TAR in Milan dated 13.1.2010 : in this case, users not only have not received any reimbursement of sums wrongly paid in the previous year, but have unwittingly incur bills bearing still up 12, 53%, according to another administrative measure whose effectiveness had been suspended;

• If College Codest not confirm the protective order issued by the Administrative Court of Milan, the applicants / users continue to pay for all of 2010 rates include an increase of more ISTAT increased by 30% - a measure approved by unfounded and completely identical to another whose effectiveness has already been suspended by the TAR in Milan by order was not challenged.

• It can not even referring to the alleged reduction of tariffs: contrary to what would have us believe the defense of the City of Sondalo, in fact, the reduction of 3% is applied to the previous increase of 12, 53% and is therefore always higher than the total revaluation ISTAT increased by 30%.

Clearly, then, what is in this case protect the subject from which up to now - besides having to bear the costs of a trial which saw him victorious thus far - has not even able to enjoy the benefits recognized by the TAR and is exposed to the risk of continuing to pay exorbitant fees and unlawful.

2. Specifically, then, despite assertions by the counterparties, the injury suffered by users is also quantitatively very significant, as shown in the following table:

Consider, in this regard, which, along with those already applied since 2001, the increase at issue here resulted in an overall increase of the rate equal to 63.90%, 39.55% of which was approved by the Board of Sondalo administered by Mr. Togni. In the face of this enormous
harm to users, for the forfeiture of the company unfairly increased prices constitute an unjust enrichment.

That said, the defendants, assisted and defended as above, request that the ECC. Mo State Council should grant the conclusions already formulated.

ALLERGENS in the wine (from Jun 09)

NEW! 06mar'08 of ... ... THE EUROPEAN COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH HAS AGREED TO MOVE THE DEADLINE FOR ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE DIRECTIVE TO ALLERGENS December 31, 2010 ORIGINAL NEWS

The European Community, to avoid obstacles by Italy (who decided not to issue a decree transpose the Directive on allergens) has amended the regulation concerning the labeling! ... ... Unless you change your mind from June 2009 will need to declare the fact that the wine "contains egg" or "contains milk"
By Brunelli T.

No court labeling for allergens. On
obligation to indicate the presence on wine labeling of allergens from milk and eggs, temporarily suspended until May 31, 2009, the EU Commission, after the IRECTORATES G ENERAL Health of the Commission (DG SANCO) has rejected the possibility a further extension of the deadline and be able to bear the labeling of wine a pictogram on the presence of the allergen, such as portraying the egg or the container of milk, has prepared a new draft regulation, in English, for amend Article 3, paragraph 3 of Regulation 753/02 which should come into force on 1 June 2009.
Unless further thoughts by Commission for the labeling of wines that contain allergenic substances mentioned (and then only if present) at the moment, the following terms have been proposed, which we freely translated into Italian: - for it contains sulfites "sulphites" or " sulfur dioxide "- for dairy products contain" milk "," milk protein "," casein (milk) "or" milk (casein), "- for derivatives containing eggs," eggs "," protein of eggs, "" albumin (egg), "" egg (albumin), "" lysozyme (egg) "or" egg (lysozyme) " depending on the substance used - for the plant proteins contain "wheat", "protein wheat," wheat (gluten) "," gluten (wheat). "
on the use of written languages \u200b\u200bin the above, as for the previous "contains sulphites", you must follow the rules set by individual members (ENO source e-mail Italian Confederation of Vine and Wine)

LABELLING
was added the new Regulation art. 49 allergens on "Application of certain horizontal rules," which cites: "In the event that one or more items listed in Annex IIIa to Directive 2000/13/EC are present in wine (or more precisely: in the products set out. IV to the EC Reg No 479/2008), they must be indicated on the label, preceded by the word "contains".
There is, indeed, a draft regulation to amend Art. 3, par. 3 of Reg (EC) No 753/2002 marks as a deadline to waive this requirement May 31, 2009. Therefore, all the wines to the market places or labeled after that date, containing sulfites, milk, eggs and cereals must be clearly indicated on the label.
Except for sulphites (only if the limit is greater than 10 mg / l), for other allergens is no limit and they must be given however, if they were used in the production, even if one assumes there are no traces insignificant.
The possibility of postponement for the entry into force of new regulation is minimal, given the determination of the Commission's DG SANCO and whereas Directive 2000/13/EC had already established extensive time trial (2 years).
There is the political commitment of most producing countries to obtain a court, bearing in mind that: 1) OIV ongoing studies could demonstrate, by the end of 2009, non-hazardous to the health of such allergens
2) does not exist time analysis methods that can accurately determine the presence of these allergens in wine
3) the court would be more appropriate, considering also that the new rules for the labeling of wine will come into force from August 1, 2009. (By FederDoc 01/26/2009)

eccezionalità che diventa normalità

[December 28, 2009] Water Protected Areas and Biodiversity Planning and Climate territory

The exceptional becomes the norm, and perception (neutral) of nature to human use and consumption

Umberto Mazzantini

LIVORNO . Reading the news of these floods announced that disrupt water bodies, eat mountains, flood plains of a country that consumes fragile and immobile cement frenetic Chinese, come immediately to mind two or three things. The first is the obsessive reference to the exceptional event. A mantra of salvation and somehow comforting especially politicians and administrators who act as if now the "exceptional" had not become the norm, as if the "extreme events" were not already the daily climate that marks our time, as if the announcements made by scientists, environmentalists, IPCC and UNFCCC that this (exactly this) would happen, were a resounding amazed to discover that we renew every violent and prolonged storm. Flooding Christmas show that should soon think about the exceptional as normal as what to expect, to equip it to deal with what happens in one of the regions of the world, the Mediterranean, considered most at risk in various IPCC scenarios.

Fino ad oggi l'esperienze che abbiamo vissuto (With rare exceptions) were those of securing the territory to continue to do what you did before and more than before. The result was often that of cementing further, "hardening" and infrastrutturizzazione that changed once the parameters of securing the area and sent back to the dangers that would have been avoided. If you put security in order to continue to build where you should not, if you rebuild where the water had resumed its old ways, there is probably something wrong. The great public work and postponed the recovery of our national territory has probably need to be built with an essential raw material: honoring existing balances, which are made even more sudden and violent imbalances, adaptation to the changing nature of the works of man and nature to man, not chasing an impossible dream of taming the Promethean power of nature with technology, but putting the technology in the service of human security and balance that we have helped to break.
