Referring all'allerta toluene / vanilla industry experts tell me that ... ...
- April 27, 2010 was issued an alert RASFF ( see link) about the presence of toluene in ex-vanillin lignin produced in Norway and sold in Italy;
- Remote di qualche settimana, la EFFA (European Flavour and Fragrance Association) ha diffuso un documento ( VEDI LINK ) in cui si afferma che il Toluene è un normale sottoprodotto della produzione di vanillina da lignina e che non esistono spe cifiche leggi che ne definiscano un limite massimo;
Ad oggi l’allerta non è rientrata; il Ministero della Salute Italiano non ha ritenuto valide le argomentazioni della EFFA e pretende un livello massimo di Toluene nella vanillina ex-lignina pari a zero (inferiore al limite di rilevabilità, in pratica) e ha invitato l’azienda produttrice a ritirare i prodotti contaminati dal mercato, come previsto dal Regolamento 178/02/CE.
